Our Wedding

Well, it's official! On August 16, 2008 Tony and I were married at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Seattle, Washington.

I love how you can see my sister Carrie, my maid of honor, and Tony's dad Skip, his best man, in this shot. Bill is quite the photographer!

I truly could not have imagined a more magical, wonderful day. In addition to getting to spend the rest of our lives together, Tony and I got to have all the people we love surround us, a fabulous party, tons of presents, and then we got to go on an idyllic tropical vacation for a week. Who knew getting married was such a racket!

For those of you who could not be with us that day, here are a few photos courtesy of Bill Battema. More will follow once I get the CD from my photographer.

First thing, first: filling out the application for out marriage license.

Our guests filtering out of the Church following our ceremony.

Hugging my new father-in-law.

New family members: Nancy, Nana Rose, Peter, Lisa, and Skip (also my new father-in-law).

My cute parents.
This October 20th they will have been married for 30 years.
I couldn't ask for a better model of marriage - the bar has been set very high for Tony and me!

Our first dance as husband and wife to "Can't Help Falling in Love."

The ever-fabulous Battema clan. (From left: Mike, Ellen, Jeff, Doug, Lara, Chris, and Lara).
Mike and Chris were two of Tony's groomsmen and they charmed all my the ladies! I'm not supposed to write about how my sister thought Mike was sooooo cute or how she gushed that he asked her to dance TWICE. So I won't. That'd just embarrass her.
